Join UsThe Public Affairs Community of Europe (P.A.C.E.), which gathers lobbyists national associations in the EU and public affairs professionals, will held its 8th EU annual meeting on June 1st and 2nd in Nicosia, Cyprus, hosted by the newly established Public Affairs association of Cyprus (LPAP) .
This year, PACE will gather 16 National associations and professionals representing PA professionals in Europe.
At the event, the debate will focus on the current legal developments on lobbying regulations across Europe and on the need to share a common view on such issue, in order to promote a more homogeneous framework. PACE believes it is crucial to keep a high attention on this matter, especially with regard to a definition of lobbying that must be comprehensive and non-discriminatory. PACE also strongly stresses the positive role that transparent lobbying can provide on democracy participation.
Pace members urge MEPs and the European Commission to pay particular attention to this sensitive issue and is ready to support national and EU institutions, by providing them its professionalism and expertise. Considering the relevance of these matters, at the event will be present several representatives of the national and European institutions, who will chair a public session Friday 1st , illustrating the functioning of the institutions and focusing on how to guarantee a fair democratic participation of stakeholders in the decision making process.
During the conference also two Brussels-located organizations representing lobbyists and consultancies, SEAP and EPACA, will share their views on the state of art of the initiatives carried out by European institutions and express their opinions on the Transparency register and lobbying activities.
Moreover, also Transparency International will participate at the debate sharing information, data and views on lobbying in the EU.
